This Week

I am on a staycation this week. I don't know why it is that staying at home in a quiet house all by myself is just pure heaven. I look forward to my quality time with Stuart, who is primed and pumped for our week off. I am finishing two dresses this morning and then diving in to Christmas presents. I finished one already.

I made this bag for my mom. I'm not worried about posting it because she doesn't read my blog. I think if I told her, "Mom, I have a blog. You should check it out." she'd think I was talking about a disease. Although, she does have text speak down pat (seriously, she'll text me things like "C U nxt wk! XOXO Lurvs MA"), so maybe she'd know what I meant after all.

Anyway, it was very quick and only took a fat quarter of fabric (plus lining). We each found gorgeous fat quarters of vintage fabric last Christmastime, and she left hers with me knowing I'd eventually figure something to make with it. I didn't want to just use it to use it, so I never cut it. I'd take it out from time to time to look at it, and then one day it hit me - a cross-body bag! My mom loves little purses, so this will be a good item for her.

I'm going to make one myself from the fat quarter I scored, which is so beautiful. I'll put up a tutorial so you can make one too.

I have a glucose test tomorrow (yep, we're in the 6th month already), and then I plan on doing a little birthday shopping. The pregnancy is going great so far, with only the normal discomforts and aches. More on that later. Off to sew!!!!

xoxo,
